- Participatory Budget Project – District 6 (International District)
- Esther Hewitt ,our clubs VP, is currently helping to lead this year's District 6 Participitory budget. In doing so she has made a significant effort to include UNM students in the Participatory Budgeting Project process for Albuquerque's District 6 (International District). For the first time in District 6 history, the community will decide how our $1.5 million worth of D6-specific capital project funds are directed. These projects are planned to be fully completed by May 2027 (two years after the pilot PB process wraps up).
- Over the past year, 243 project ideas were submitted, which have now been narrowed down to nine eligible community projects.
- Phase 4 voting begins on March 29 at the PBABQ Project Expo at the International District Library, where Community Teams will present their projects to the public. Voting will continue through April 19, 2025.
- All District 6 community members — including UNM students — can vote live at the Expo or online during the voting window. You’ll be asked to select THREE of the proposed projects. Project descriptions and online voting access can be found here: https://pbstanford.org/2025-albuquerque-d6/approval.
- Please help PBABQ spread the word and make sure our community voices are heard!
