Profile:
Anthony (he/him) was born and raised in Inglewood, Los Angeles, CA. He began his higher education journey at Kalamazoo College earning his B.A.in Anthropology and Sociology. While working with the Higher Education for the Justice Involved (HEJI), Anthony obtained his M.A. in Educational Foundation at Western Michigan University, focusing on the potential of higher education, supporting students, and building relationships with students displaced due to incarceration. His research interests delve into the expansion of the shadow carceral state as racial governance and social control. He focuses on how system-impacted peoples navigate and reimagine institutional spaces.
