Jessica Goodkind and colleagues (David Lardier and Julia Hess) published a paper in the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry titled “The Impact of Post-Resettlement Stressors and Access to Healthcare on Physical Health Outcomes in Recently Resettled Refugees in the United States.”  https://doi.org/10.1037/ort0000697

Emily Catillo (2023 PhD Sociology UNM) and co-authors presented in the American Sociological Association Teaching Sociology webinar on Teaching Sociology by, for, and about First-Generation and Working-Class People on  "Collectively Building Bridges for First-Generation Working-Class Students: Pláticas Centering the Pedagogical Practices of Convivencia in El Puente Research Fellowship." 

Nancy López presented here research on AfroLatinx communities and "street race" at meeting with elected congressional leaders on the state of Latinos as part of the activities related to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Conference in Washington DC. This research was also selected for presentation at the Nov 14-15, U.S. Census Bureau Virtual Workshop on innovations on Race, Ethnicity and Inequality Research as well as the Network Equality Data Online Workshop Sept. 28-30, 2023 sponsored by Humbolt University and Duetsche Forschungsgemeinschaft in Berlin, Germany. 

Nancy López presented on a panel entitled "Moving Forward on Excellence, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Higher Education: Conversations on the Implications of the Supreme Cour's Ruling on Affirmative Action," on 9/14/23 at the UNM Law School on the aftermath of the Supreme Court Ruling on affirmative action and she also  posted a blog in Academy Health on 7/15/23 responding to the recent Supreme Court ruling outlawing affirmative action by arguing that class is not a proxy for race as a social status.

Distinguished Professor Emeritus Howard Waitzkin presented an audiovisual keynote address, “Science as Ideology in Epidemics of Racial Capitalism,” by live streaming at the biannual conference of the International Association of Health Policy in Thessaloniki, Greece.
