Recent PhD graduate, Dr. Alena Kuhlemeier, was selected as the winner of the 2022 Best Dissertation Award from the ASA Section on the Sociology of Mental Health for her dissertation, “An Intersectional Mixed-Method Examination of Multi-Level Determinants of Adolescent Sexual Minority Health and Substance Use"

Graduate student Celine Anaya will be an invited guest scholar at NYU for two weeks where she will be lecturing about her work on Afrolatinx experiences of Blackness, meeting local scholars and doing some work in the local Afrolatinx communities.
