Research Statement:

Korey’s research sits at the nexus of Black feminist thought and a postcolonial sociology of race. His dissertation research investigates the antiblack and colonial underpinnings of contemporary policing. In particular, Korey examines how during moments when Black bodies are stopped, the human/Black dichotomy and racial hierarchies are reified. Korey was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship to support his research from 2019-2022.
